Home Stretch

The purpose of this project was to create a mock firm name, and design various systems for a small observation tower and community centre and create construction documents for the project. I explored many structural precedents before designing custom steel knifeplate joints that smoothly blended the steel and timber into a cohesive system. The tower utilizes a passive solar heating system via operable louvers.
