Home Stretch

The goal of this project was to redesign several currently vacant city blocks in downtown Helena to create a hybrid building. The belief is that in doing so we can not only revitalize the downtown area, but also help bring more traffic to existing businesses. In addition to residential and commercial program elements, the Helena Hybrid will also include retail, food and beverage, education, light-industrial, recreational, as well as aquaponic urban farming along the south facade. Aquaponic farming has half the water requirement of traditional irrigation and could be a very important development in Southern Montana as the dry climate makes for a poor and often unusable topsoil layer.
