Two Travelers

The two travelers project presented a scenario in which one person traveling by sea and another traveling by land both meet on the vernal equinox at a coastal site. The travelers will then take refuge at this site for the summer and then go their separate ways on the autumnal equinox. My design for this project was to create a space that dealt with simple, repetitive geometry and level changes to dictate separate spaces in the living area. The roof is designed with the same geometry in mind and also functions to drain water into the cistern within. The roof also incorporates the sun angles of the fall equinox by lining up shadows with the north wall in order to let the travelers know when their summer of rest is over.
